Whether it is a dry docking or refit and maintenance period, it is very important to ensure that, as much as possible, the risks of over spend, over schedule and under scope are mitigated effectively. 

Starting with a detailed and realistic requirements list, we build the work scope of the period to ensure that every item of work that is expected to be completed is very well understood.

A SUITABLE PROJECT PLAN

Taking the workscope to appropriate contractors to build a suitable project plan with a schedule and budget that is realistic and achievable, we make sure that every reasonable step is taken to remove unknowns from the process.

We then manage the project with the contractor and other parties such as Class and the Flag State, on site, to ensure that the project is properly monitored and controlled through to completion and return to service. 

​

Of course, being well prepared, with a close eye on the project does cost a little more on the overall budget – however unplanned costs always end up being many times more than the planned ones – and a properly managed dry dock or refit maintenance period project is always better value than the one left to chance.
