David joined our team in 2017 as a qualified Chief Engineer unlimited with over 30 years’ experience on a variety of vessels.
Moving ashore in 2003 he has built up extensive shore ISM technical management experience with employment in the positions of Fleet and Technical Manager, responsible for developing, implementing and ensuring vessel compliance with ISM on both superyachts and commercial vessels.
David, who holds a Masters degree in International Commercial Law, has vast experience in the role of Technical Manager having overseen planned maintenance systems, refit and drydock specifications and emergency repairs for hundreds of vessels.
Having been based for three years in the UAE, David has gained extensive vessel management, hull and machinery casualty experience and condition surveys, along with office and vessel audits throughout the region working with some of the world’s largest marine insurance companies and is a registered Flag State and ISM Surveyor.
David is the company’s Designated Person Ashore and Company Security Officer.

CREW & COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Dawn was previously an Accountant before joining the Nautical Management Services team in 2017 where she has been continually promoted over the year into her current role. Having worked in accounts for many years, Dawn brings a wealth of knowledge to the team with her accounting, payroll and HR experience.
As Crew and Compliance Manager Dawn plays a central role to the department, working directly with clients ashore and afloat. Using our bespoke Safety Management software, Horizon, Dawn is able to monitor each vessel's maintenance, drills and day-to-day procedures as well ensuring all required yacht-specific documentation is correct and up to date.
Dawn’s qualifications include basic and advanced STCW training to ensure she is equipped to manage any situation that may arise onboard, ensuring the utmost safety of all crew and captains. She is also a qualified Company Security Officer and Designated Person Ashore, acting as Deputy CSO and DPA for Nautical Management Services’ managed fleet and also carries out onboard Audits on behalf of the company.

Tony is a marine engineer having completed a commercial EOOW and further endorsements.
Having completed his cadetship onboard bulk carriers, Tony worked onboard a variety of Ro-Ro ferries in the Scottish Highlands before getting his opportunity in the yachting sector where he served on 5 yachts from 30-142 meters in length in various roles up to the rank of Chief engineer.
In 2018 Tony moved ashore to work as a refit yard project manager/engineer at A&P Group on the river Tyne where he successfully oversaw the dry docking of four CMA-CGM container ships for their 15-year class surveys as well as extensive works to cranes, main engines and ships structural steel work etc, as well as an emergency dry docking of a chemical tanker and afloat work on a heavy lift ship etc.
Joining Nautical Management Services in late 2019 as a Vessel Manager, Tony is involved in the day to day operation of our fleet as well as being involved in larger maintenance periods and dry dock periods. As a qualified ISM Auditor, Tony is part of our onboard auditing team conducting ISM, ISPS and MLC audits.

James has 20 years of experience in commercial shipping, including command experience as Master on board newbuild dynamically positioned flotels, operating within the offshore sector in the North Sea, Mediterranean, Asia and South America. James is qualified to the level of Master Mariner Unlimited, additionally specialising in Dynamic Positioning with further experience as an Offshore Installation Manager.
During his time as Master, James was responsible for ensuring ISM compliance, successful Flag State registration and operational readiness of two newbuild 500 passenger flotels, which was a challenging but rewarding project. This project resulted in him becoming responsible for the reactivation and operational readiness of a large dynamically positioned flotel, from cold stack to operations, during the unprecedented challenges brought about by COVID in 2020 and 2021.
Moving ashore in 2021, James has gained experience not only as a Marine Superintendent, preparing works and overseeing large towage operations of oil and gas platforms, but also as a Marine Quality Assurance Specialist. The role of Marine Quality Assurance Specialist included the compliance vetting of vessels being utilised for advanced offshore operations, as well as ISM compliance reviews of shipping companies, vessel audits and subject matter expert reviews post incident or near miss events.

VESSEL MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT
Originally from Brest, Belarus, Oksana graduated with an interpreting and translating degree in 2007 in Minsk, with English language as her major. Additionally, she studied German and Spanish languages for three years, bringing a wealth of significant international experience and language skills to the NMS team.
In 2008 she moved to Saint-Petersburg and began a career as an interpreter, giving her the opportunity to work for large companies on multiple projects in the automotive, construction and manufacturing industries for a total of six years.
In 2014, Oksana moved to the North East of England where she started a family and helped to run the family business.
Working closely within our vessel management team, Oksana assists with communication between our Russian clients and also translates any vessel and project management reports and documents into Russian as required.

With seven years of human resources and customer service experience under her belt, Kay joins the West Nautical team as our new Office Manager. Her previous roles in the automotive and building industries leave her well-poised to deal with the fast-paced environment of yachting, where she will now oversee all daily operations of the West Nautical office. She will be working directly with the company’s employees and contractors in the UK and globally, ensuring all clients, team members and visitors are well looked after.
Very much a family-oriented individual, in her spare time Kay loves watching her two children play football and enjoys holidays abroad, experiencing all of the different culture and cuisines they have to offer.

PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER
Sarah, originally from South Africa, began a successful career at sea at the age of 18 and spent a total of eight years working on superyachts ranging from 35 to 85 meters cruising in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Maldives. She holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Public Relations Management and has years of experience in her native country working for large PR companies. Sarah knows the maritime industry inside out and adds a wealth of knowledge and skills to the NMS team.
